Я очень рад, ведь я, наконец, возвращаюсь домой (via RealPapaPit)
This video was shown on the Colbert Report recently. It is, without a doubt, ubsurd. How is it that something so ubsurd and obviouslly appealing towards hipsters with weird humor tastes end up on the Colbert Report? The answer might come in some recent studies (ok, bullshit “my friends and I noticing things” studies, but im gonna call them studies) which show that the target audience for humor and products, once targeted directly at bros and the average dimwitted American is now placed directly toward hipsters and underground kids. Have we become this? How have we let ourselves, us, the most aloof of all audiences, the most difficult to please, become a target audience? I saw vinyls on sale at BORDERS. How does this happen? At the same time, is it really bad to be the target audience? Suddenly the market is inundated with things we want for relatively cheap. I managed to get copies of all three of the original Romero trilogy films (the Dead trilogy, his newer films are not included, as you should know anyhow) easily and quickly. This would not have been an option just a couple years ago. So, personally, I do not have a problem with this shift of power in the marketplace. If I can use my role as target audience to get myself tons of lychee soda, pocky, zombie films, good vinyl, and lacey floaty clothes, hell, i’m gonna. Especially if that shift includes humor like this becoming acceptable. Because you can’t fight against humor.
